What is a Giclée
Giclée (jhee-clay) is a French term referring to
"squirting" liquids. In art terminology,
Giclée applies to squirting microscopic ink droplets onto art media,
such as canvas or watercolor paper using a computer driven printing process for the purpose of art production or reproduction.
To be a true Giclée, the prints must be printed on art media, be able
to be printed at any size and use high-gamut, moisture resistant archival inks. Giclées
are specifically targeted to being displayed in indoor lighting, such as galleries,
or offices. Quality reproduction, color fidelity and long term archivability are major attributes.
At present the Giclées offered at this site are rated achivally up to
200 years. When you think about the works of
Degas, Lautrec,
Cassatt, and many others, now in need of restoration to keep them from
fading only after
100 years, this new state of the art printing process is well worth the
investment.
With the Giclée process artists are now able to achieve actual color
reproduction of their artworks and at singular quantities if desired. Our Giclée
machines print at 2400 dots per square inch,
which means exact detailing of your image and color. m
With this process artists can make copies of their work and because of the durability of the media, able to work back into their prints
to make new and original works that can be used to create a series on a theme.
Photographers are able to make enlargements of their work inexpensively.
Amatuers can can have their photos printed on to canvas media creating their own photographic paintings.
The creative possibilites are overwhelming.
Think of the convenience of ordering only the amount of copies that you want and when you want them. All you will ever have to do is to
e-mail us to place your order.
In most cases we will be able to begin making your prints, once we receive your images, within 24 - 48
hours and return them to you within
4 - 5 working days, depending on the quantity ordered and method of shipping.
